I've Been Adopted!

Little Violet has come back to BREW through no fault of her own. She is a causality of a divorce and her family had to make the difficult choice to return her.

Violet is 9-10 years old and is a petite girl, weighing in at around 15 ponds. She is a happy girl, despite the change in her life.  Her tail wags and she very friendly. She gets along great with her foster sister and brother and is good with kids.

She is not a big barker except when its mealtime and I don’t get the food ready quick enough. Or if she picks up on a rabbits scent in the yard.

Violet is housebroken, potties on a leash, and has a moderate energy level. She enjoys curling up in a chair or hanging out in the back yard.  She is definitely a joy to have around.

  1. I was wondering, is Violet still available? My beagle, Bubby Mac, was diagnosed with cancer on May 11, 2016 and crossed over the rainbow bridge on Sept. 12. I was wondering also, is Violet good in a car? I am retired & looking for an older furry friend to share my double wide recliner, or couch with.

Roy, so sorry for your loss of your beloved beagle, Bubby Mac. Violet is still available. Please complete an application to start the adoption process and we can have a volunteer work with you to find that perfect match.

  2. Where in PA is she? Wondering how far from Alexandria VA she is to see if I could meet her. I have adopted from BREW before (10 years ago and our wonderful brew beagle passed away in May.) and wonder if my information would still be on file with you.

Hi, Phyllis – I am so very sorry to hear of your BREW beagle’s passing. I will go ahead and share your note with a couple of volunteers who work with prior adopters, and one of them should be in touch soon. Thanks for your interest in adopting again!

  3. Where is Violet located? We live in Richmond and we are looking for an older beagle.

Hi, Barbara – Violet is currently fostered in PA. If you’d like to go ahead and fill out an application, our volunteers can certainly work with you to find a good match! Information on the process can be found HERE. Do note that it can take us a little longer to do home checks outside of our core area (N. VA/DC/MD). Thanks for your interest!

  4. She is a beautiful dog! I had a beagle for 17 years who passed in 2007. She was my life – and everyone loved her. What a good girl she was. Violet looks like a winner in my book. What sweet pictures and her disposition sounds like it would be a perfect fit for me. Funny, the house I recently bought a few years back has a fence and a doggie door – I was in no rush to change it! I would love to take the time to come meet her. And I would love to give her lot of love as she continues on through life. And I’m sure she would do the same for me!

      • Thanks for your response back Linda! I filled out an application on the evening of the 22nd – hoping I did that correctly and that you received it! Have a great Thanksgiving and I look forward to hearing back from you. 🙂

  5. Hi,

I am interested in Violet. Does she get along with their let’s? I have a cat and a 9 year old rescue beagle at home. I will be gone over thanksgiving week but if she’s still available I’d love to see if she gets along with my dog! (Lily is really cute too).

Thank you for your interest in Violet. She is in a foster home with other beagles but not sure how she is with cats. She is currently in a foster home in PA. I would like to encourage you to complete an application to start the adoption process making you eligible to meet her.
