I've Been Adopted!Twilight

Age: 4 years old

Gender: Female

UPDATE - 14 MARCH 2014: My name is Twilight and I am thought to be around 4 years old.  I am a beautiful tri-colored beagle with very inquisitive eyes that are a deep liquid brown.  My foster mom says they are haunting, but in a good way.  To be perfectly honest with you, my life was been almost unbearable up until now.  BREW took me in as a stray, skinny and quite smelly.  My foster mom has put some weight on me, and I smell quite lovely now.  My foster mom has worked with me quite a bit, and I am potty trained about 95%.  There are just some days I cannot hold my #1, but I am almost 100% at holding my #2.  If she is home some of the day, I am a very good girl.  As with any good beagle, I have a nose for food and will go searching.  However, I am not a chewer nor do I destroy the blankets in my crate – yes I am crate-trained.  I sleep through the night, but will cry out if I need to go outside.  I love car rides and get along well with other dogs.  Please do not choose me unless you are going to give me my forever home and lots of love – please never hit me.  I want a home where I can be shown love and in return you will gain my trust.  Trust is not an easy issue with me, as I have been abused.  I am a little slow to warm up, but I do have much warmth in my heart to share.

Original info: Twilight is a 4 year-old female beagle. She is friendly but quiet and reserved. She was picked up as a stray in Louisa County, so her history is unknown. She will be available for adoption once she is fully vetted. We will know more about Twilight once she moves into a foster home, so stay tuned!

Thank you Erin. We are very familiar with a dog like her. Two months ago we had to say good bye to our amazing BREW Rescue Lola. Twilight has the same exact back story (even comes from the same county) and personality as Lola. The family is going to have a serious discussion this weekend to see if we are ready to pursue this further. Can you tell me where she is being fostered? I live in S.E. PA.

Hi, again – I am so sorry to hear of Lola’s passing. Since you are a previous adopter, you can contact Laura directly at if you decide you’d like to pursue things further. Twilight is fostered in northern Virginia, but I’m sure arrangements could be made for a meet-up if need be. Thanks!

I was wondering if Twilight was still available for adoption? How is she doing with her house training? When left alone is she able to be left out of her crate? Is she good with cats and children?

Hello – yes, Twilight is still available at this time. Her foster mom said last week that her profile is still accurate. She is fostered with other dogs, but we don’t know about cats or children. She is timid around new people and activities, but does warm up if you are patient and calm with her. Thanks for your interest!

We are wondering if Twilight potties on a leash, how much she weight and her energy level. We have a brew (Scout) who is 6 but is high energy. Thanks. Marcy

Hello, Did Twilight go to a foster home? Is there anymore update on her.
    Thank you, Pat

Hi, Pat – Yes, Twilight is now in a foster home, and I have requested an update on her. I met her at the last adoption day and she was a sweet girl but a little shy and overwhelmed by the event.
