Clementine

I’ve Been Adopted!

Age: 2-3

Gender: Female

This little tiny beagle/basset mix weighs in at just 20lbs! She’s super nice, mellow, and quiet. She’s been tested with cats and passed!

She was saved by a wonderful group in WV when a shelter up there decided it was euthanizing ALL the animals because the caregiver of the shelter was tired of caring for them. Clementine is one lucky dog! Make her lucky twice over by giving her the home she deserves!

Squeaker

I’ve Been Adopted!

Age: 2ish

Gender: Female

Squeaker is a tiny little thing, just 20lbs of love and affection. She’s been having a great time at doggie daycare and gets along with all the other dogs there.

She does have some alpha-tendencies so she shouldn’t go to a home with another female dog. A male dog is fine!

Photos will be coming this weekend.

Bacall

I’ve Been Adopted!

Gender: Female

Age: 1-2

This darling little girl is Bacall and she is hoping for a new home today!!! She was one lucky Beagle – she was a stray wandering around the county when someone hit her with a car and kept going.

Luckily for Bacall, the car right behind the one that hit her pulled over and picked her up, they had seen the whole thing and called the shelter to pick her up from them. The officer rushed her to the vet because they were thinking she had a broken leg because she wouldn’t put any weight on it. Luckily for Bacall, she did not have a broken leg, it was just bruised. The car must have just bumped her.

Bacall is only a year maybe two old and she weighs just 23 pounds.

She is so silly! She loves to zoom around you while you are out in the yard! She almost looks as if she is laughing!

Bacall is a very sociable little girl who just loves everyone she meets! She does have high energy that is typical of a young Beagle. She is a darling girl who truly deserves a forever home.

She was dog and cat tested at the shelter where she was held.

Marley

I’ve Been Adopted!

Age: 2-3

Gender: Female

Here are some words from the wonderful lady who found Marley running and took care of her for a while until Marley came to BREW:

She came to us after I tried diligently to find her owner; she was emaciated and covered with ticks.

Anyway, in the 3 months we had her, we have observed that she is a very laid back dog, loves adults and children, gets along well with other animals.  She loves to go for daily walks..and enjoyed the twice daily 1.5 mile walks I gave her.  My neighbor taught her to heel (when she’s focused) and sit.

When children come around, Marley gently greets them without any barking or rough housing!  She is VERY GENTLE SWEET DOG WITH A GREAT DISPOSITION!

Did I mention that she has been crated trained!  We  put a crate in the house and when given the command, Marley went in it without any hesitation!  She laid down as we closed the crate door.

Also, she loves the attention: getting her belly and ears rubbed, lots of petting, sitting on your lap!  She does very well riding in a car!  In fact, while in the car last week, Marley sat in my lap with her nose out the window and before I knew it, she was sound asleep with that nose partially hanging out the window! Precious!!

And coming back, she laid in the seat, with her head on the console (the part between the bucket seats).

We think she’s younger than the age given by the shelter!!   She likes to play with stuffed and squeaky toys, chew on shoes (if they are in her reach!), and run after a ball or toy when its thrown!  She acts more like an older puppy!  And when she runs, she is FAST!!  She has a lot of energy so that’s why she must be walked and played with.

She is afraid of gunshots (we live in a rural area!) and the sound of thunder.  When I was walking her one day, we heard a gunshot, and she stopped and got close to me. This happened more than once.

I can’t say enough about her.  She would make a great addition to a family who was willing to give her the time, love and attention she deserves.  I’ll add one thing, she likes a routine such as the one she had: eat, walk, treats, play and then rest!  She is very affectionate and a sweetheart!

Oh . . . she not too fond of taking a bath!  But she was bathed and brushed often!

Tugboat

I’ve Been Adopted!

Age: 5ish

Gender: Male

New from foster home: Tug Boat is doing well in his foster home.  It has been interesting in watching his personality come out over the course of the last week.  He plays with my dogs (also beagles) and loves to go on walks and sniff.   He also LOVES to chew. .  He has gone through about 10 toys and I have now put them all away except for the indestructible (like Nylabone) ones.

He has been sleeping in his crate when I am gone and at night (in a  crate near my bed). So far, he has been doing well in the house training department – no mistakes so far. Tugboat takes direction well and is just generally sweet.  Yesterday, he jumped into the shower with me.  What a nut!

What a showman Tugboat is! He showed off his obedience skills – knows Sit and Down like a champ! He also have a firm grasp on how to play with a stuffed animal.

He loved spending time with the kids who visited the adoption event.

If you want a happy, eager, enthusiastic beagle who has a great sense of humor – ADOPT TUGBOAT!

Tugboat is our new BREW buddy from Montgomery County.  He was picked up as a stray there and no one claimed him.  Tugboat is a short, stocky kind of guy.  Small but sturdy at 28 pounds.  He is believed to be about 5 years old.  He rode very nicely from the shelter to our vet where he will finish up his vaccines and stuff.  2 hours in the crate and the crate was clean and dry at the end.  He is very excited about being free, so his leash manners need some work, hence the Tugboat title.
