I’m available!
Age: 1 year
Gender: Male
Hot Rod is a new member of the BREW pack. He came to us from the Planned Pethood shelter in Rocky Mount, Virginia. Hot Rod is a little guy who weighs in at a solid 22 pounds. He is very energetic (of course he’s been living in a crate!) as can be expected of a 1 year young beagle. He loves people and seems OK with big dogs. He met a Cane Corso at the vet’s office (who had to outweigh him by 60 pounds) and they got along fine. He is fully vetted.

I’ve Been Adopted !
Age: 2 years
Age: Female
Here is Gayle….snuffling up the back yard when she first came to us and here she is playing “tug o’ squirrel” with our Rattler “Bacall”, also from BREW. Gayle has only been with us for 3 days but here is what I know about her. She was a bit growly when she first came here….but she was tired, stressed and overwhelmed. Since then …. She seems to be house trained. Only one accident on the floor because it was raining so hard yesterday none of the dogs would go out. Gayle and Rattler play, play, play play….up, down, over and around. Gayle just loves everybody….all puppy tails and wiggles. She’s a bit curious about the cats but pretty much leaves them alone….she’d rather be playing with Rattler. Gayle and Rattler sleep together in the crate at night. All in all…..she’s a great pup but a beagle for sure. Up, down, over around here and there and everywhere…..the baby gates don’t stop her…she can jump like a deer. She found the grandkid’s toy box and started a “puppy stash” of stuffed animals. My only concern about her is that I think she could easily jump a fence if she decided to. Otherwise….I can’t say enough good things about her.Gayle is a small female under 20lbs, 1.5 yrs old, friendly, good with other dogs but was a stray at Louisa Co. Animal Shelter so her history is unknown

I’ve been adopted!
Age: Born 5/31 – so 6 wks old on 7/14
Gender: Male
Seriously – does a puppy get any cuter than that photo? I think not.
Bosco is the sole survivor of a litter of puppies born on May 31st. He’s been bottle-fed since he was 2 days old.
He weighs 2.5lbs now and is already crate-trained!
While the photo is irresistably adorable – keep in mind that Bosco is still a beagle puppy and will confound you every way he can! So be ready for a little whirling dervish for the next year if you adopt him. Just sayin’.

I’ve Been Adopted!
Age: Approx 16 weeks
Gender: Male
Teddy is a fun-loving, lick-your-face beagle hound mix!
New: This is one adventure loving pup. He was the first to jump up on the couch, the first to go up and down the stairs and the first of the two to jump down the back of the couch scaring foster mom to death!!! He is such a ball of energy and loves life to the fullest. He loves dogs, cats, and kids. He is baby approved also. Just like his brother he loves to cuddle, but he prefers to get his belly rubbed over anything else. He is crate trained and working on his house training. He is doing better than his brother with less accidents in the house. If you let him and he is a loving mood watch out because he soak you with kisses. We would love for these two to go to the same home, but know that any home will be loving for them.

I’ve been adopted!
Age: Approx 12wks
Gender: Male
New! Even though Mickey didn’t have a great start to life he is such a lover. He was found covered with ticks on the side of I-64. Yes, right on the highway outside of Williamsburg. He is one lucky pup to have been found when he was.
He loves to cuddle and give kisses to anyone who will let him. He loves to run around and play. He gets along with other dogs, cats, kids, and anything else. He is true beagle pup who is learning house training. He is crate trained and will sleep in his crate all night long without making any noise at all. He does get a little restless when he thinks he has been left alone without either his brother, Teddy, another dog, or his person. We are working on this issue and everyday he gets a little bit better. Unlike his brother, Teddy, he is more reserved and prefers to stay close by. He is a beautiful pup and would love to find his forever home.Original info: I was found wandering with my brother by a good Samaritan who turned us over to BREW. We’re both in foster care and doing very well – we’re just hanging out waiting for our Forever Homes!

I’ve been adopted!
Age: 12 weeks
Gender: Female
Penny has settled into her foster home like only a beagle puppy can, by storm! She is a beautiful beagle that will cuddle with you, give you kisses, and play till she drops to the floor for a nap. She loves to play with cats, other dogs, and kids.
Her housetraining has come along much better than we expected and although she is not completely trained she is very close, which I think is because she is so smart. She loves to run in the yard and will stay there all day if you let her. She can now make it the whole night without needing to go outside for a potty break. This is one sweet girl that will make you smile just to be around.

Leah

I’m available!
Age: 3-4 years
Gender: Female
January 26, 2013: Leah first came to us in early September, 2012. She was adopted in December but was returned in January, 2013. The adopter was unable to deal with the steps necessary to the retraining of an adult dog.
Leah is a young adult beagle. She is very active and agile and is interested in everything around her. She thinks it her duty to explore everywhere. Although ~30 lbs she still wants to be a lap dog and will happily cuddle.
Leah is very affectionate with people and other dogs. She loves to roll around on her back and her long legs flail around with abandon. She wants to play and will grab anything she can get and run away, hoping someone will follow her. Her two foster sisters are seniors and couch potatoes that either ignore her or send her away most of the time; she doesn’t give up but keeps going back to try for playtime
She has not yet been tested with children. Given she doesn’t seem to recognize her own strength, she should not be around smaller children without constant supervision. Leah will stay in the crate but doesn’t like it and has to be urged to go into it. Once there she is quiet as long as there is someone around; if I leave she tends to howl and bark.
Leah is food driven; she is learning to sit for her meals and treats and will follow me while I feed the other dogs, then follow back into the kitchen for her food. She is not above grabbing food from any source and is a typical beagle in that respect. Leah is very smart and if bored can get into trouble.
We have a dog door into a fenced back yard and Leah likes being able to go out at will. She was housetrained when she came here and had accidents only when I wasn’t paying attention to her signals. She will walk and do bathroom chores on the leash. She wants to check out everything around her and needs leash training. She likes riding in the car in her crate.
While we don’t know where Leah came from, she was immediately at home in the house; none of the normal household noises bother her. She is not afraid of thunder and is good when my resident senior beagle gets scared. Leah likes to sleep on the bed or cuddle up in the numerous dog beds where she can see the household.
Leah will make a great addition to a couple or family who are active and willing to spend time with her.
Leah is a 3-4yr old black/tan female that is fully vetted. She is friendly and good with other dogs but was a stray in Madison Co. so her history is unknown.
