Tyler's Happy Ending
Chris and Nikki Ellison

We adopted our beagle Tyler Madison Ellison from the Madison County Shelter in VA through BREW about 18 months ago and it's been wonderful ever since.

HE CAUGHT MY EYE online and he spoke right up and caught my eye again when he was the only quiet puppy in the back of the shelter while all the rest of his big brothers and sisters barked and yelled for attention. I said let me see that one please and if he's a boy I want him!

Now we didn't know we were going home with him. We were only meant to go down to see them and pick one out to be put on hold while he was being moved to be sponsored that day, and when she came to pick them all up I said can we take him home today, I've had my phone interview, all I need is a home check? She looked at all the puppies she had with her to take home and said if you were cleared on the phone as long as your home check is scheduled, take him!

We were so happy! We had nothing for him, so we put him in the back back of the truck and started home about 2-3 hours away. He cried and wined and pooped. He cried and wined and pooped again. This boy pooped so much I thought that he pooped himself in weight. We had to stop at almost every gas station to clean him up, the truck up and it was very hard, no newspaper, no water no nothing. And on top of that we had nothing ready at home for him. He had ticks so he needed a bath and he wad soo dirty. So we had to cart this little poopy boy around Petsmart and buy stuff for him, and he still managed to poop some more in the store. Then we get him home and the first thing we have to do is give him a bath. Although he didn't like it much, under all that muck was an even prettier little shy face with the roundest eyes we had ever seen! We put our poopy boy to bed, our nervous little pooper trouper. We call him our Tyler Dyler Doo Boy.

Since then he has grown into a rock solid tall little hound that loved to get his way and be babied as much as he can. He's so spoiled that he sleeps in our bed in the middle of my husband and myself. He likes to sleep late, take baths, go for rides, run and make us extremely happy every single day and we're so attached to him that when he left for vacation for the first time without him I cried and had to take pictures and a stuffed "tyler" with me.

We are now expecting our first child in November but Tyler will always be our little boy.

He is foremost the best beagle in the world and we ask ourselves all the time "how did we end up with such an awesome dog"? Because he fascinates us every day with how sweet, loving and smart he is. And all I can thank is BREW and him catching my eye that day online and at the shelter, it was meant to be and love at first sight.

His Momma is Darla and we also hope she has found a good home and is happy, please tell her, her son is a good good boy!
