RosieRosie went to the Rainbow Bridge on December 10, 2001.
Here are some words from her family:

I can't believe I am writing this. Only 8 weeks ago, we had to put down our beloved Lacey of only 5 years who we lost to kidney failure. We had the good fortune of adopting 10 month old Rosie from Brew only 6 weeks ago and on December 10th, Rosie died from health problems she had since birth unbeknownst to everyone at Brew and us. Rosie was at the Vet's as recently as the weekend before to get all her records placed with our Vet along with her adopted sister, Chloe who we also adopted from Brew about 6 weeks ago. On Friday, Rosie seemed unable to breathe properly so we took her to the Vet.

She was diagnosed with a severe case of phemonia which we tried to treat unsuccessfully. After an autopsy was done, we learned that Rosie's liver was enlarged, her lungs weren't functioning correctly and that the fluid in her chest was so severe that her heart couldn't be seen from the fluid adhearing itself to her heart. There was nothing we could have done.

I believe it was Rosie's purpose in life to come to ease our pain of loosing Lacey and it was Rosie who brought Chloe to us. Chloe had an abusive past and although she was attaching to us, Rosie sensed that Chloe needed more alone time with us.She knew us very well. She decided to join Lacey knowing that we would most certainly adopt another beagle girl from Brew and give them a happy ending and have the time alone with Chloe that was much needed to bring out the best in her. This was so like Rosie. Always sharing herself with others, openly loving and gentle and willing to give of herself.

So, now as we search for our new beagle girl, Chloe is enjoying our sole attention and love that we need to express so much in this difficult time. We will all emerge from the pain, including Chloe more attached to each other because knowing pain allows us to feel joy.

Thank you Rosie for our time with you. We love you and will see you at Rainbow Bridge someday. Give Lacey a hug for us.
