Daisy DukesDaisy Dukes Went To The Bridge April 3, 2003.

Daisy Dukes was our very first beagle, rescued from the pound after being dumped there for being a poor hunting dog. She was adopted at 5 months old and lived with us as a true family member for nine years. Our love for Daisy was the reason that we came to know BREW back in 2000, and Daisy was the official BREW Webmaster Mascot.

Afraid of thunderstorms, she would always seek shelter in the nearest bath tub. Motivated (by food of course) she would do any number of stunts to get a morsel of yumminess. Driven by the true beagle spirit, her eyes would light up when she would hear one of us coming home and pulling into the driveway. And with slobber and a huge beagle smile, she would ALWAYS perk up to the phrase "Wanna go for a ride?" where, regardless of speed, her sweet face would remain to the wind out of the car window.

Daisy LOOOOVED Beaglefest, in fact this picture was taken at the Spring 2002 Beaglefest where Daisy would stand out like a sore thumb (afterall she was 1/2 fox hound and 1/2 beagle weighing in at 45 pounds=), but she was truly a social butterfly when it came to Beaglefest. Cruising from blanket to blanket, meeting new folks, stealing a kiss wherever she could get it...she loved BREW.

I could write and write about how wonderful Daisy Dukes was, but I'll close this tribute to the Dukster by saying this: She never had a sad day in her life with us...she was not in any pain when she left us to go and join her canine companions at the Bridge...she was a smiling puppy-at-heart that could make you laugh, cry and smile all in the same breath...and I KNOW that her life was better because of us...I also know that we are better people because of her. We are thankful to have had Daisy in our lives and we will miss her dearly.
