Daphne PDF Print E-mail

DaphneDaphne went to Rainbow Bridge on August 31, 2005.

Daphne went by many names – The Daph – Shoogs – The Princess (which you had to say with a rolled RRRRR) – Baby Girl – Daffodil – and there are so many others that I would take up this whole page…But the amount of names that she had doesn’t compare to the amount of love that we had for her or the love that she felt in her life.
Though not an official BREW beagle, Daph was the other official BREW webmaster mascot for many years. She was timid at Beaglefest – always just hanging out on her blanket watching the others romp by – but always with a smile and a little bit of drool.

She loved burying her face in the couch pillows or getting underneath when it came to bed time. She never sat like most dogs – she was always on her bottom with both legs sticking out. She would hold up one paw at our dinner time to say “Feed me – I’m injured or distressed”, even though that was the farthest from the truth…we called it a beagle tactic – and she had many tactics (and of course we always folded with those sweet brown eyes looking at us).

And we are going to miss our GURL. I only hope that we brought her as much joy as she did to our lives and the lives of those that she was a part of. I can keep a smile on my face knowing that she is on the Bridge – probably chasing foxes and squirrels…and I know she will be there when it is our time.
