In April 2003 we adopted our first pet, Reno, a beagle from BREW. He had been in a wonderful foster home and came to us almost fully trained. He made us laugh right from the start (Reno was very entertaining). He was also very loving, patient, sweet, cuddly, I could go on and on---we loved him so much. He survived a fire at our home. He was rescued by his "dad " from his crate that he had just been put in for the night in my son's room, where the electrical fire broke out. He was only inches from the fire, soot on his belly. He was relocated with us until our home was remodeled. Shortly after that he had a neck disc probably and had surgery which kept him in his crate, except for short bathroom breaks, for most of a summer.

Several years later he developed kidney disease and ended by having a year of subcutaneous IV treatments. Reno remained very lovable, patient and funny throughout all ordeals and was loved by everyone who met him!  We had to "let  him go" on May 24, 2009, as he was not eating and very weak, succumbing to the kidney disease. We miss him so much and thought we could never go through the pain of loving and losing another pet. He was like a child to us. Although no pet could ever replace Reno, we have decided to pay tribute to Reno by adopting another beagle---we think there is nothing like them! We hope God enjoys Reno as much as we did!
