Twinkle was a special BREW dog. She was never adopted, but stayed with BREW from the time she was rescued, until she passed away.

Twinkle was dumped at a shelter when she was almost 10 years old. Almost a sure death sentence. Her owner did this because a visiting relative said she was allergic to dogs. The shelter was appalled and contacted BREW. Twinkle was picked up and brought to her foster home.

Twinkle was a delight. But, with all the upheaval, she developed some separation anxiety - meaning she needed to be in a home with company (another dog, a cat, someone). That and her age made adoption slow to come.

Then, she developed a lump on her foot. It was diagnosed as a mast cell tumor. BREW went to the mat for Twinks. She went to an oncologist. The best solution was amputation of her entire leg. Twinkles survived that and healed beautifully. And she loved life. She played hard those 3 legs.

But, the tumor had spread and Twinkle passed away in the arms of her foster family. She was laid to rest on a beautiful hilltop in the Virginia countryside.

Twinkle has a wonderful last few years thanks to BREW. Twinkle, twinkle, my little star.
