As a family we decided that fostering a beagle would be something we would all enjoy. We already have a beagle named Snickers who followed us home from an abusive situation some 15 years ago...we thought it might be nice for her to have a good buddy to pal around with.... So we get a call from Elaine regarding a dog that was one of the many rescued from the horrible conditions in Arkansas. She is sweet she says and has been bounced around a bit because her last forever home had a bigger dog that wasn't very kind to Lucy. We made our way to Ohio to pick her up to be her foster family. One look at her and we were all hooked. She has those soulful eyes that just say, "Here I am, love me." She came home to a fresh Porterhouse Steak Bone and has been with us ever since. We are foster losers in the fact that we ADOPTED her and she is such a joy to us. She and Snickers sleep with my husband and I every night in our bed and she is such a smuggler.. She warms my heart and has put the spring back in Snickers step too!!

We are thankful to BREW for bringing Lucy to us and we thank her foster family in Chicago for doing us the honor of entrusting her to us-- we take this privilege very seriously and feel so blessed. She is the quietest beagle in the world as the horrible Arkansas people had her debarked-- but her soulful eyes say it all... she is so much more than the number she has inked onto her right ear... her name is Lucy and we are proud to say that she is a part of our family now.
