Jerry & Susan Utz

We had our beagle Max for a little over a year and decided we wanted another one. Max attached himself to my wife and son, and I wanted one of my own. My wife found your website and I started looking at the available beagles on your site. There were two I liked the looks of, but for different reasons, we were unable to adopt them. Then I saw Hattie. I told my wife, "That's my dog." We immediately called, knowing that as cute as she was, she wouldn't last long on the site. We were directed to Hattie's foster mom, Claudette, whom we called to find out when we could meet her. On a Friday night, Claudette told us that Hattie had been spoken for by a couple from New York who were coming down to get her the following Sunday. Needless to say, we were heartsick. Claudette called back, though, to let us know that the couple lived in an apartment, which was not the type of home you all hoped to place Hattie in. We drove four hours (one way) the next day to get our little girl. As soon as I picked her up, she gave me kisses and love and I was sold. She slept in my lap the whole four-hour trip back home. It only took her three days to fit in. Her big brother, Max, took her under his wing and was very good with her. He shared his toys and water dish, but, true to beagle form, will not share the food dish. Now, they both sleep in our bed with us; Max on my wife's pillow and Hattie under the covers on my feet. We couldn't imagine life without her. Twice the beagles really does mean twice the love. If we had more room, we'd take every one of the babies on your site! Thank You!
