Day 17 - Wednesday PDF Print E-mail

Day Seventeen Wednesday AM/PM

My seminar ends, and I head for home. I'm home early, and I've caught the Beagle brigade off guard. There's massive scrambling and much running and barking at the fence as I get out of my car - they surely don't want me to think they were ASLEEP when I pulled up.

Tonight is Halloween. This will be an interesting exercise, with six dogs in the house. I've got an airlock system set up in the entry hall. The first baby gate is across the door between the kitchen and living room. The second baby gate is across the hallway leading to the front door. I made the fatal mistake of moving the gates instead of climbing over them. The resident four were outside. Georgia and Hunter were inside. Hunter got out of the first gate when I moved it, and was right at the front door with me when I moved the second gate. I almost didn't see him. He ALMOST got past me. I opened the door, he balked at the strange costumes, and I tripped as he tried to get by. I caught him by wrapping my legs around him, and sitting up to grab his collar. He thought it was a grand adventure. Georgia came out to see what it was all about, and the kids were pretty shaken up and had gone on to the next house. Pam tells me to get the dogs back in the house and leave the handing out of candy to her. Gladly, I gather the dogs and get back inside. I know I'm going to have a bruised butt in the morning.
