Day 16 - Tuesday PDF Print E-mail

Day Sixteen Tuesday - AM/PM

The alarm goes off, and I am up. Nobody else is though. I shower, and get dressed, and Georgia is making whuffling noises, so I let her out of her crate and carry her down the hall to go outside. I can't put her down on the floor, or else. I've stepped in a lot of "or else" lately, and I'm trying to minimize that. I put her down, open the door, and she goes outside. She goes through the dog door like a pro. While she's outside I make coffee. I get a cup of coffee for me, and then get one to take to Pam. By now Georgia wants to come inside, so I pick her up, get Pam's coffee and go into the bedroom. I plop Georgia down on the bed and ask Pam if she's ordered coffee and a BEAGLE. She starts laughing "No, the order was Coffee and a BAGLE!" Turns out Georgia, like her sister Tara, likes coffee. She drank some of mine.

I leave for downtown while Pam is feeding the dogs.

Georgia has developed a silly "I want to come in" bark - WOO WOO, a thoughtful pause, and then WOO WOO again after a few minutes. I have no idea where she learned this. And, I have no doubt that this will develop into a full fledged, full throated "Aroo" as Georgia gets older. None of this silliness for the resident four - Buster announces his desire to come inside with loud, broken-hearted bays. Potsy whines and barks once, sharply. Daisy usually scratches at the door - her meaning is unmistakable: "LET ME IN AND I MEAN NOW!" Daisy is the "She Who Must Be Obeyed" of beagledom. Hunter has to be reminded that there IS an inside. He LOVES to be outside, sniffing.
