Day 12 - The house is FULL of little renegades. PDF Print E-mail

Day 12, Morning - The house is FULL of little renegades! It is as though these puppies LIVE to defeat the barricade. (Note to self - Do NOT let the puppies get bored. It's really quite amazing how inventive bored beagles can be! They ALL managed to get out this morning, lead, no doubt by Sullivan, who has to be double jointed. The resident four are heading Having a beagle is like having a three year old in the house. Imagine having SEVEN of them - the resident four, and three puppies. All intelligent. All very capable of thinking and problem solving. If they decide to band together, there will be trouble. I have this overwhelming sense of dread that they are all already in cahoots. I am doomed. Lou (from Cats & Dogs) has nothing on these guys!

I remember thinking how well prepared I was on that first day. Well, this experience has shown me that No matter how long I've had beagles, I can always learn something new, either from someone who has already made that mistake or by trial and error.

Sullivan's new family and I have made arrangements for him to be taken home tonight. He's my favorite of the five, and I'm going to miss him a lot.

Outside they go, the puppies and the resident four, aroooing all the way, with Daisy bringing up the rear.

Day 12, Evening - In which I have to say goodbye, again. Sullivan just left with his forever family. He is my favorite of the five puppies, and I miss him.

We've had quite a time here with the puppies and the kittens - the kittens have moved on to their new homes, and now it's just Garrison, Warren and the resident four.

We've fallen into quite a routine here - the dogs get up, they all go outside, I clean up the mess, which has been less and less, then I feed them all, put them back outside and get ready for work. It's almost like clockwork.

It's getting much quieter here at Beagle Camp. I think Camp might be over by the weekend. I wouldn't trade this experience for anything - I'm just not sure I'm going to be repeating it any time soon!!!!
