Ginger & Ruby - Double the Fun PDF Print E-mail
by Mary McEneany

Thought I would write and update BREW on the status of our two beagle girls, Ginger and Ruby. When we initially contacted BREW, we intended to adopt only a single beagle. We felt that with two mini-schnauzers already in the house, one more small dog would be plenty. But, when we heard that the two dogs wanted to be adopted together (I guess they made their feelings clear on the subject somehow!), we knew we could find room for two!
That was over a year ago now and Ruby and Ginger have decided that this forever home thing is a pretty good deal. They have acres to run around in (all fenced!), lots of things to smell, other dog friends and plenty of soft places to rest after the running and playing are done. In fact, there are several chairs in the family room that are now completely off limits to humans.
But while I know that they love their home, I also am aware everyday how much joy they bring into our lives. Just the positions they can get themselves into as they try to share a single small dog bed can make me laugh out loud. And since they have the choice of four or five dog beds, it is extra hysterical when one of the schnauzers tries to join them!
Just yesterday, in pure joy, Ginger went running around the backyard doing tight 360-degree circles. Not only was it a bizarre thing to watch but also when she finished twirling, she looked up with me with what can only be described as a big old smile.
So, I just wanted BREW to know that the two pups were doing well and enjoying life. More than that too, I would like BREW to know how grateful I am for recommending we take two instead of just one. They truly are double the fun!
