The mental tug-o-war had gone on for months: are we ready for a dog, where do I start, should we get a puppy, do I wait until after the holidays are over, etc. We had discussed the possibility numerous times in the past but never enough to inquire.

I had finished all my work on the computer and, just for the heck of it, decided to enter "beagle" into Google. Why did BREW come up when I entered beagle? I wasn't interested in making my own beer, I requested information on a specific breed of dog? After further examination, this was one of the best beagle sites on the Internet. Not only did it provide me with the information I was looking for, but also pushed my curiosity to the limit. I completed the on-line application and anxiously awaited hearing from a representative.

The entire process unfolded within a 72 hour period. A local BREW representative came to our home and helped us plan for our new addition. Within 4 days of being approved, I was informed that a beagle who met our criteria, was available in Medway, MA. His picture had just been posted on the web site, and after showing my family, there was no turning back. We went to Medway, met the foster parents (who not only were wonderful people but also did a great job with this particular puppy ), and feel in love with Duncan, now known as Dunkin. Looks like we were headed back to CT with an additional passenger.

Dunkin can turn the worst day into the best. My children adore the dog just as he showers them with endless affection. Everyone can use a little more unconditional love in their lives! It almost seems like Dunkin was meant to be in this family and, despite being with us for only a little over a month, every time that we return to our home, he is the first to shower us what affection.

If you are serious about getting a dog, do yourself a favor and fill out the on-line application. You will not regret it!
