Phoenix

Hello, my name is Phoenix. I’m a big boy (almost 40 lbs) and people think I may be part basset. My foster mom says the Phoenix was a sacred bird in Greek mythology - I don’t know anything about that, but I like to chase birds and squirrels and rabbits and the occasional groundhog! I follow my foster mom wherever she goes & my favorite place is snuggled next to her with my head on her lap.

I know what “no” means and I have learned to sit. We are working on other commands. I’m doing pretty well with house training. Foster mom let’s me have free run of the house now. I go right in my crate at meal time and when foster mom leaves, but I don’t like to stay in there very long. I have been good with the children I have met & I get along with the other dogs here, but when I’m on a leash, I don’t like big dogs.

At night I sleep in the big bed & rarely move unless I get hot. I love going for car rides. I sit quietly and look out the window. I’m always happy and my tail doesn’t stop wagging.
