Tess

Tess is a puppy mill survivor from Wisconsin. She has come a long way in the time she has been with her foster family, but still has a ways to go. As a puppy mill survivor she is very under-socialized with people. She gets along great with other dogs, and really enjoys being able to spend time outdoors. On occasion, we have caught her tentatively playing with the other dogs here, but she retreats as soon as she notices we are watching. She is slowly learning to trust people, and is VERY food motivated. She is very fond of rawhides as well. She is house trained and crate trained, and retreats to her crate as a safety net. Tess will need a family dedicated to working through her trust issues and bringing out the playful dog that is hidden inside. She will probably do better in a home with another confident dog, and no young children or grandchildren. She has done very well with teenagers however, and seems to warm up to older children faster than adults. One day Tess will be a happy family dog; it just will take time dedication and patience.
