Gertrude

I've been adopted!

Age: 8-10 years

Gender: Female

Adoption Day Info:

Hi everyone, I’m Trudie, that’s short for Gertrude in case you didn’t know. My foster mom calls me Trudie all the time but my foster dad calls me Gerty every once in awhile, mom doesn’t like it but dad thinks it’s really funny. It’s been awhile since I updated everyone on what has been happening with me so I thought I would sit down and get everyone caught up. I have been in my foster home since Thanksgiving and don’t get me wrong I like them and all but I would REALLY love a family to call my own. My foster family has other dogs and cats. I love the other dogs and while I may seem old and gray I do love to run around the yard and chase the other dogs. My foster mom and dad say that I get the zoomies when I wake up and sometime during the day, for the most part though I am a pretty laid back kinda gal. I love to snuggle and give kisses too. I am the official canine ear cleaner at my foster house. I get along with the cats too, basically they keep to themselves and so do I.

Foster mom and dad do not crate me. They tried when I first arrived at their house but when they came home the crate would be on the other side of the room and I would get really anxious. So know I am gated off from the kitchen and office when they leave, that means I have access to the living room and bedroom (my favorite place to sleep). I am almost house trained too. I don’t have a very clear signal other than they have finally figured out that I have to potty right after I eat, otherwise I have accidents in the house. I have had other accidents too like when they are really busy and I haven’t gone out in awhile.

I’m a petite little girl with a girly figure and it takes a lot to keep it that way because I love to eat. Every time I go outside I think it’s time to eat when I come in. Foster mom and dad think it’s really funny and cute (they even took pictures of my dance). They don’t feed me though, they just gives me lots of love (they work hard to keep my girly figure too).

When I arrived at my foster family’s house I hadn’t been spayed and my teeth were in really bad shape. They took me to the doctor and he fixed all of that. They pulled out 11 teeth but you would never know. I got to eat canned food for a little bit but now I eat regular dry kibble. My new family will have to take really good care of the teeth I have left so that means they will have to help me brush my teeth and I may have to see the doctor a bit more often. Hopefully that’s ok because I would really love to find my forever home.

If I sound like the perfect girl for you give BREW a buzz and let’s get this thing underway.

See you soon,

Trudie
