Maxine

I've been adopted!

Age: 8 years

Gender: Female

Adoption Day Info:

Maxine is a petite, 21-pound beagle, but while her size is small, her personality isn’t. In fact, Maxine is one of the happiest, most friendly beagles we’ve ever met. The last six months have been rather rough for her, though. Last July, she was attacked by a coyote or wild dog and sustained several wounds to her head, neck and leg. Those all healed well, but then a few months later, her family got a divorce and apparently no one wanted her because she was turned in at the shelter. Since, unlike a stray, they didn’t have to keep her a certain length of time, they decided her time was up. Thankfully, that’s when BREW Midwest stepped in, and Maxine’s life took a turn in the right direction. Ever since then, she’s been enjoying her foster home where she has other beagles to play with, comfy beds to sleep in, and grandkids who come to visit. She loves her daily walks, and is also delighted to be taken along for a car ride. And don’t let her age fool you, she’s got more energy than the other beagles here who are half her age. So, if you’re looking for a dog with a great attitude in a small package, Maxine’s the girl for you.

Sponsored By: Dawn Toth: When I saw little Maxine and read that she was attacked by a coyote... I had to help sponsor her! We lost Fluffy to a coyote and if it wasn't for our Baby Beagle Bailey they would have taken him. She was a true loving sister and bayed until help came. It was too late for our Fluffy but we now have a fenced yard and the "kids" can now play safely without threat when they go outside.
