Hello Midwest ... my name is Tripp and aren’t I a handsome beagle mix boy!

First, my great qualities.  I am housebroken and very well behaved in the house and out on a walk.  While interested in birds and bunnies, am not obsessed with them.  I have no food issues with people or other dogs, and am learning that the toys are to be shared.  Give me a nylabone and you will never have to worry about anything else being chewed, like your slippers and furniture.

I am excellent with all dogs, male or female, large or small; I even get along with cats.  I can hold my own playing with the big dogs in my foster home as I can give as well as I can take and am very fast.  I do well in a crate in the house and in the car and, even though I get the run of the house overnight, I sleep in a dog bed on the bedroom floor all night; though sometimes I have to share it with another beagle.

My people skills, however, are a bit lacking.  New people and situations make me insecure, shy and scared.  I warm up to women much faster than to men, but I am trying very hard to adjust and become more comfortable with the world at large.  I am a quick learner and the agility classes I have started recently are helping build my confidence, as would behavior or obedience classes and lots of exposure to all those happy people and pets at the pet store.

I would appreciate a forever home that would continue giving me the exercise, leadership and structure to help me become the happiest and best dog I can be!

Foster note: Tripp benefits greatly by emulating the overly people friendly dogs here, and would make an easier transition into a home with another friendly playful dog.  He is on his way to the realization that he does not have to go through life in fear of people and with such a limited comfort zone, but he will need someone willing to continue to patiently work with him.  He has such great potential ... I guaranty it will be worth the effort and will also be very gratifying along the way!
