Tripp

I've been adopted!

Age: 2 years

Gender: Male

Adoption Day Info:

My name is Tripp and not only am I a handsome beagle mix but also an agility star. Everything it took my German shepherd foster brother years to accomplish I have done in just a few lessons!

More of my great qualities. I am housebroken and very well behaved in the house and out on a walk. While interested in birds and bunnies, am not obsessed with them, although I get excited when passing another dog as I love to play. I have been known to do an excellent impression of a meerkat while on a walk; helps me see over the tall snow banks. I have no food issues with people or other dogs, and am learning that the toys are to be shared. My favorites are nylabones and rope or squeaky toys, not much for tennis balls or slippers. I also love snow which makes this a banner winter for me so far!

I am excellent with all dogs, male or female, large or small... I can hold my own playing with the big dogs in my foster home, or at day care, as I can give as good as I can take, and am very fast. I do well in a crate in the house and in the car and, even though I get the run of the house overnight, I sleep in a dog bed on the bedroom floor all night; though sometimes I have to share it with another beagle.

My people skills, however, are a bit lacking. New people and situations make me insecure, shy and scared. I warm up to women much faster than to men, but I’m trying very hard to adjust and become more comfortable with the world at large. I am a quick learner and agility classes are helping build my confidence, as would behavior or obedience classes and lots of exposure to all those happy people and pets at the pet store.

I would appreciate a forever home that would continue giving me the exercise, leadership and structure to help me become the happiest and best dog I can be!

Foster note: Tripp benefits greatly by emulating the overly people friendly dogs here, and would make an easier transition into a home with another friendly playful dog. He will do best in a shy-dog experienced home who will continue outside activities such as agility and/or obedience. He has such great potential and is very smart... I guaranty it will be worth the effort and will also be very gratifying along the way!
