McCain aka Mackie

I've been adopted!

Age: 3-4 years

Gender: Male

Adoption Day Info:

Hi, my foster parents said that I needed to take a break from all the playing to tell you a little bit about myself. Excuse me while I catch my breath for a second…Ok, thanks for waiting. My name is McCain, like the senator, but I don’t know a whole lot about him and my foster parents call me Mac or anything that goes with Mac like Macaroni or Macintosh. I’m a pretty friendly guy so I don’t mind that they have nicknames for me. Since I took a break from playing I guess that means that I am VERY active…they tell me that I am 1 to 2 years old but believe me I feel a lot younger than that. I really like to play, I love to run and play chase…my foster sister loves to play chase with me too, I like to take turns with her. I also like to carry around empty pop bottles…they are like a ball but nobody else likes them here so I can keep them forever. I really like to chew too so wherever my forever home is, I need to have lots of things to chew on. But aside from playing my favorite thing in the whole wide world is…BELLY RUBS! I love belly rubs, I will roll right over when you start to pet me so you can rub my belly. I even roll over when I am getting in trouble, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t but it’s still worth a shot. Did I mention that I give kisses…yep that’s right kisses. They are my next favorite thing to do, it’s how I show you that I love you…I think I’m the best kisser there is.

My foster parents have this thing they call a kennel, but I call it home. I go into my kennel when they say “kennel” and I don’t argue a bit. I kinda like it in there, I sleep in there and I go in there when my foster parents go out. They tried giving me run off the house, but remember how I said I need lots of stuff to chew? Well, I found it…so now I stay in my kennel. They say that someday I’ll be old enough, but for now. I’m working on this housetraining thing and I am doing ok but sometimes with all of that playing I forget and accidentally go inside. My foster mom says that I remind her of a toddler.

My foster parents have these things called cats. My foster brother loves them. He calls them furry squeaky toys, but I don’t see what the big deal is. I mean they walk around the house like they own it and they meow and hiss at him, I just leave them alone. I figure if I don’t bother them then they won’t bother me. It’s a pretty good deal we have worked out. I mentioned my foster brother, he’s a good guy, but I like my foster sister better (she doesn’t try to steal anything from me, she has told me who’s boss). I also really like the neighbor’s kids; they like to come over and pet me, and believe me I will take all the attention you can give.

Kisses, McCain
