I've been adopted!

Age: 3 years

Gender: Male

Adoption Day Info:

Hi, my name is Atari…yup, just like the computer games! Let me tell you a few things about myself…I’m a submissive Beagle boy about 3 years old with low to medium energy and weigh 23 pounds. I was in a shelter for 14 months before BREW rescued me. Because of this, I’m a little on the shy side and it may take some time for me to warm up to you. Once I gain your trust, my foster mom says that I’m a silly little beagle. I’m in my foster home now and it’s time for me to find my furever home.

I get along great with other dogs and love to hang out with the resident beagles here. When we’re outside, I run around with them in the yard but I can only go so far because my foster family has me on tie out. When I get a whiff of something good outside, I try standing up on my hind legs to catch the scent and start to whimper and bark. I love to look for the squirrels, deer and fox that have been hanging around. I can do this inside too because there is a huge window in the kitchen for us to look out of. You should hear all 3 of us barking and baying when the deer appear.

Once I’ve been fed and let out to do my business; I get the run of the house until foster dad has to go to work in the afternoon. When my foster mom comes home a couple hours later, she lets me out of the crate. Because I’m housetrained; I’m only crated when no one is home. I get to sleep with the resident beagles in their beds in my foster parent’s bedroom with the door closed at night. I curl up into a little ball because it’s so nice and cozy.

It seems that I have an issue with men that have dark hair. I’ll bark, bark, bark and run away from them. My foster mom picks me up and takes me with her to the bedroom. I’m slowly working my way to my human sister’s boyfriend. At least it’s not as noisy as it was on my first day here.

Since my foster family has two beagle mixes that I absolutely love to be with; they feel I would do better if my new family has another canine for me to hang out with…I tend to come out of my shell a little quicker when I’m with other dogs.

I’m looking for a family that has the time, patience and love to give me a secure and safe home. Obedience training would be good too so that we can learn and bond together. I would do better in a home with older children, who understand some of my shy issues.

Please contact BREW if you feel that I’m the Beagle boy for you. Let the games begin!

XOXO , Atari
