UPDATE - 12 MARCH 2019 (from Sam's foster mom): Sammy is a nice basset-beagle mix. He’s very sweet and loves to be pet. Sam has very soft fur. He also enjoys walking around the neighborhood and sniffing all the things, as beagles like to do. He likes to greet people and dogs. Sam seems pretty housetrained as he has not had accidents in the week he has been in our house. He gets along with our cats and is generally a couch potato. But he does like to chase you for a bit in the house so he has some energy. If you’re looking for a nice, calm boy, Sammy would love to be your best friend. (Note: Sammy can be a little noisy in his crate and when left alone, so he probably isn't suited for an apartment or townhouse).
UPDATE - 4 MARCH 2018: Sam is now in a foster home, so stay tuned as we get to know more about him!
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: Sam is a 6 year old neutered beagle basset mix. He’s sweet, friendly and good with other dogs. He was a stray at the Louisa County Animal Shelter in Virginia, so his history is unknown. He may have been someone’s pet because he came to the shelter already neutered. He is now fully vetted and available for fostering or adoption.
