UPDATE - 8 APRIL 2015: Pomodoro has been with me for 5 days, and she has adapted quickly to the routines of my home. She is a cute, tiny, tail-wagging, kiss-giving machine who loves to follow me wherever I go. She appears to be house-trained and has never had an accident in the house. She sleeps quietly in a kennel in my bedroom during the night, but she isn't too keen on being in the kennel when I have to go to work (barks). I took a chance yesterday to see how she would do for a few hours loose in the house while I was gone, and she did great! I listened outside the house when I left and when I came home, and all was quiet. I am going to try this again today for a longer period of time. My other dogs know it is time to settle down when I leave, and I think Pomodoro followed their lead. She has claimed one of the dog beds as hers and settles down nicely on that bed during quiet times (see picture).
When Pomodoro first arrived, she did fine with my male beagle, but she and my female dachshund mix did not get along and needed to be monitored. However, that seems to have corrected itself, and all three dogs are now doing fine together. Pomodoro will occasionally play with my male beagle and one of my cats, but she is an independent soul who seems perfectly content to just be with her human. I think Pomodoro would be fine as an only dog or in a home with a male dog. She could use some leash training and training on basic commands. She loves running in the back yard. Overall, Pomodoro is a cute, happy pup who smiles and is looking forward to meeting her forever human.
Original info: Pomodoro is a spayed female, tricolor beagle who is about 18 months old and weighs just 16.5 pounds. She was a stray in Halifax County, Virginia, and her history is unknown. Stayed tuned as we get to know Pomodoro better!
