UPDATE - 25 SEPTEMBER 2018: Otis is an adorable little beagle. He was very shy when he first arrived but that only lasted a couple days. He's been a good boy, keeping his crate clean and letting us know when he wants to go outside. He doesn't always like when it's time to get in his crate, but he settles down pretty soon after we leave. (I spy on him with a doggie cam). It's hard to say how he might behave if he is adopted as an only dog because he's always got company at our house. Otis gets along great with our other beagles and has proven to have good doggie social skills. He sprints around the yard with our younger dog, but he is nice and calm with our slow senior dog. He is the perfect age to be a fun family pet. He's still young and playful, and best of all he's outgrown any crazy puppy behavior.
Otis learned the routine in our house faster than most fosters. At first he wasn't sure about following the other dogs in and out of the house, but he was very easy to catch and bring inside. He's docile when picked up, and he seems to love hugs from people. It's been fun coming home to his enthusiastic aroooos and wagging tail every day to greet me. He also keeps me laughing with some of his sound effects. He has the nose of the true beagle and he does a lot of sniffing and snorting. He also snores like a champ.
Otis is a little guy with a big personality!
NEW - 17 SEPTEMBER 2018: Otis has gone to his new foster home, so stay tuned as we learn more about this beagle boy!
NEW - 3 SEPTEMBER 2018: Otis is a 7-year-old short-legged beagle boy. He had the misfortune to get bumped by a vehicle, taken to the vet, and the owner relinquished him because he didn’t want to pay the small vet bill. According to the owner he was a house pet and rabbit dog. He will be available soon for fostering or adoption.
