I've Been Adopted!

UPDATE - 11 SEPTEMBER 2018: So, I am just going to throw this out there.....don't judge a beagle by the rest of them. I am not your typical beagle as I am mixed with something and no one knows for sure the identities of my parents. I am ONE OF A KIND. I am taller than the standard beagle but have the beagle markings on my legs and tail. I am fairly quiet but will bark at other people and dogs when I see them from my window. My current foster mom is patient with me as I am not house broken. She has hired a sitter to let me out of the crate as she works long hours (12+ hrs) and I have not learned the ins and outs of the doggy door. I have done well in the crate and do not make a lot of noise. I am able to hold it all night while sleeping though so I am allowed in the bedroom, but if I get up, you must get up too and let me out to potty. I do have the beagle appetite and enjoy snacks. I love to chew deer antlers, will also chase a ball and bring said ball back close to you. I do not like having my nails clipped so my foster mom and I need to work on this as I buck whenever someone attempts to clip them. So based on my bucking, I may not be good with small children; however, I have met one and I loved her; although, she didn't try to hold me down to clip my nails. I love people and will literally try to crawl into your body according to my foster mom so if you love attention, I am your girl and there is only one of me.

UPDATE - 18 AUGUST 2018: Nyssa was able to join us for her first adoption event today. She is a beautiful beagle mix with smooth, soft black fur. She was not adopted, but she did head off to a foster home after the event. Stay tuned as we see how she does in her new foster home.

NEW - 8 JUNE 2018: Nyssa is a 2-year-old spayed female beagle mix who weighs 29 pounds. She is super sweet and playful with people she knows but a little cautious with strangers. She’s good with other dogs. She was a stray from Abingdon Animal Shelter in Virginia, so her history is unknown. She is available for fostering or adoption.
