3 OCTOBER 2016: Miata has been with us for a month now. She is such a loving girl and just wants to be next to you. And sometime it is hard to believe that she is a “senior”. She will run around the yard and play with her younger foster sister. They race around the shed. Or play with a tennis ball. And she can be a little stinker. But when it’s time to settle down, she loves to curl up next to her humans.
Miata likes to go on walks but is more interested in the people she sees than actually sniffing. She gets along great with dogs but people seem to be her focal point.
She has a clue about where to potty. And has kept her crate clean. I do have to keep an eye an eye on her at meal times as she will try to take food. But usually if her brother growls at her, she will back off. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body.
We are working on not jumping up on people. And she does respond to sit and down.
If you are looking for a wonderful, friendly, loving older beagle girl, Miata is for you. I just can’t say enough about her exceptional personality.
4 SEPTEMBER 2016: Miata has moved to a foster home. Stay tuned as we get to know her better!
5 AUGUST 2016: Miata is a fully vetted, senior girl of 8-10 years that is looking for a soft place to spend the rest of her life. She was a stray that came in with Fiesta, Mercedes, Porsche, and Ferrari to the Amelia County Animal Shelter in Virginia. She is the oldest and was in the worst shape of the lot. After a few good meals and some TLC, she is ready to begin looking for her new forever home. Miata is super sweet, low key, quiet good with dogs and children, and LOVES FOOD and her treats but is very respectful about it.
