UPDATE - 10 MARCH 2018: Poor little Mandy went through another adoption day without being adopted. She is a sweet, quiet, low key girl whose tail never stops wagging. She doesn't seem very interested in the other dogs, so she would do fine as an only dog where she could hang out with her favorite humans. She travels nicely in a crate, so she could probably be crated to relieve some of her separation anxiety when left alone. Let's find this sweet girl a home!
UPDATE - 13 JANUARY 2018 (Adoption Day): Mandy surprised us today by coming all the way from Delaware to join us for our adoption day! She had a great time getting lots of attention from so many humans. Her tail never stopped wagging as she went from person to person looking for pets and hugs. She growled a little bit at some of the other dogs, but she loves her humans! If you are looking for a low key gal who will follow you everywhere, Mandy is the one for you!
UPDATE - 6 JANUARY 2018 (from Mandy's foster mom): Mandy is a sweet and enthusiastic girl. She loves her people! While she gets along well with my other dogs, she prefers to spend her time with me or any visitors that come into my home. I think she would do well in a home where someone is there with her most of the day. While she will go in her crate at night, she prefers not to have the gate closed. She is house broken, but due to some separation anxiety she will wet when left out of her crate alone in the house. If she is crated, she does okay.
Mandy likes to go for walks and would love to go anywhere you go. She does get attached to her people. She is a loving and gentle soul, who will make a good pet in a home with older children.
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: Mandy is a 5-year-old female beagle mix who is super sweet and friendly. She's a happy girl and does well with people and dogs. She came in as a stray (with a collar and flea collar) to the Surry County Animal Shelter, Virginia, so her history is unknown.
