UPDATE - 5 NOVEMBER 2018: Mahalo is a super sweet boy. He is house trained and crate trained. He loves to be with his humans and follows us around the house. He likes pets on the head and likes to curl up next to you. Mahalo does all his business on his walks and doesn’t pull too much on the leash. He is a beagle and likes to sniff all things and tries to say hi to all the dogs in the neighborhood. He is a bit scared of the cats and tries to stay out of their way or ignore them. He likes to chew on deer antlers and kongs. Mahalo is learning to sit for a treat! He can be a bit skittish with sudden movements and very loud noises, but he likes people and other dogs. Mahalo has been to day care and gets along with the other dogs. He is a favorite at day care. If you’re looking for a nice, low-key dog, Mahalo might be the right fit. He can be a little noisy in his crate, so he might not be good for an apartment.
NEW - 3 SEPTEMBER 2018: Mahalo is a 5-year-old neutered male beagle who is very sweet and friendly. He weighs about 30 pounds. He’s fairly submissive and low key. He seems to be good with children and other dogs, but he was a stray from King William Animal Shelter, Virginia, so his history is unknown. He is available for fostering or adoption.
