I’m available!
Age: 4-5
Gender: Male
Hi, they call me Magnum, but I really answer to a whistle. I learn really fast so if you adopt me, you could give me any name you want, I’ll learn it! I love to watch TV, go for walks, and to play with toys. I stay in a crate while my fosters are at work, they said I had too much fun with the newspaper (hey, I left the trash can alone!) I loved having kids come to my door the other night (Howl-o-ween), what a treat for me! I want to meet more! I also like meeting other dogs around our neighborhood. I’m not afraid of anything, just curious and easy-going. As much as I love my foster home, I would love to be in a home with lots of kids and action! Come meet me at adoption day in Alexandria on Nov. 17th!
Update from Foster Home: Magnum is doing great! He is a very sweet bagel-boy (beagle-basset mix), not too big at just 36 lbs., plays well with our two, and is house-trained (just had to say “no” a couple of times). He’s seems very smart, figuring out the stairs easily (but still a little clumsy at them), the doggie door was a breeze, and will now ‘sit’ before being fed. I’m still working on ‘stay’. He doesn’t come to his name (or any other name we’ve tried), but he does respond to a whistle and command to come. He is not at all aggressive, even during the 3 baths I have given him. He is very huggable and is just learning the joys of tummy rubs. He has been great at meeting other dogs and kids in the neighborhood on our walks. It’s very easy to get the harness on him and he loves our walks. He seems to like everyone he meets, no barking at all, but we haven’t yet encountered anyone younger than about 7 years old. He has barked and bayed a few times, but he’s not too loud (like our own bagel). He’s more than ready to add his charm to a loving family!
Hi, I’m new here. Will you be my friend?
Magnum is a beagle-basset mix … AKA Low-Ri-Der

Beautiful new group of Beagles and Beagle/Basset mix. I hope they all find forever homes as soon as pobbible.
Oh my goodness, I love this guy. There is nothing like a beagle/basset mix. He is adorable. Hope he gets into a foster home soon.
I am so happy to see this great little guy is going to an adoption event. He is just adorable. Looks like he has the best combination of beagle and basset possible – that cute little body and precious beagle face! I know someone needs him to make their family complete. Paws crossed for Magnum that if his people don’t adopt him Saturday that he gets into a foster home.
Love Magnum’s write up! So glad he got into a foster home. He sounds absolutely adorable – and he is so cute. I know he is well on his way to finding his “furever” home. Thanks for fostering him.
Magnum is such a handsome, calm boy. The puppy I am fostering, Chong, was all over Magnum at the adoption day. He just let the puppy do his puppy thing with grace and dignity. I think Magnum would be good with kids because he is so gentle and lots of people, dogs and noise don’t bother him at all. If I didn’t have 3 beagles and 2 fosters, I’d take him.
