I've Been Adopted!

UPDATE - 8 AUGUST 2016: Speedwalkers need not apply: Lacey is tiptoeing through the tulips are her own speed! She is a lovely, laid back girl who will poop and pee while on the leash. At the same time, she put one of our overly macho males in his place and for the first time ever, he learned his lesson! Barking is not Lacey's thing, but she will whine in a Lucille Ball fashion when she is afraid Ricky will find out what she did! Lacey is cuddly, working on her house-training, and not too thrilled with stairs. Lacey will be checking out prospective humans at adoption day on Saturday, August 13th so fans of long ears and drool should wear a clean shirt.

27 JULY 2016: Lacey is now fully vetted and ready for her foster or forever home!

Original information: Lacey is a 3-year-old beagle possibly beagle/basset that is friendly and good with other dogs.  She is a beautiful girl with gorgeous long ears!!  She was an owner give-up by the same person that gave up Dave & Buster.  Her previous owner had them for rabbit hunting but said they would make better pets than hunters.  She was given up to the Cumberland Co. Animal Shelter. She will be available soon.

  1. Hi ? my name is crystal and I’m not sure how to go about adopting Lacey, but my daughter Sofia and I are more than interested in giving Lacey a warm welcome place “forever” two months ago I moved to Chesapeake MD with my daughter who just turned 5 in February. We moved here shortly after her daddy passed away in March of this year. I am positive that I can provide a safe warm cozy home for this beautiful animal. Two months after Sofia and I moved here I promised Sofia I’d search for a beagle in need of a new home, the same day I found an add on Craigslist for my baby boy “Ernie” a 2- 1/2 y year old beagle/Bassett hound mix who has stolen our hearts and given us a reason to believe again. He’s updated on all his shots and per his old owner’s, He’s chipped to. They told me that they didn’t have time for him and that he was such a sweet little dog that he deserves to be given more time and love. To our surprise “Ernie Boy” has never once gone potty in Our home, and is the most loving, caring and kind animal I’ve ever had the pleasure of ownership. He’s such a huge part of Our lives now and I have to admit that we have room in Our hearts and patience to welcome another addition to our Small family. Despite having gone through a tough begging of the 2016 year, Ernie Boy has given us a reason again. My daughter and I are interested in Lacey and she sounds like she’s Ernie’s perfect match. Please let me know what i do from here, my schedule is open and I’d like to get the chance to meet her and maybe see if Ernie will get along as we Hope whomever we have the opportunity to adopt will give Ernie a reason too, besides us he deserves a side kick to relax with while we’re not home, we leave Ernie home on these really hot day’s. Please let me know what I have to do????? My email address is REMOVED FOR PRIVACY PURPOSES.

Hi, Crystal – Lacey was actually adopted about a week ago. We’d love to help you find a match for your family if you’d like to start the application process. I’m also not sure how close you are the Beagle Rescue of Southern Maryland, so they may be an option for you, too. You can learn about BREW’s adoption process HERE. Thanks for your interest in adoption!
