I’ve been adopted !

Age: 3-4yrs

Gender: Male

Kail is a fun boy! He’s very sweet and is full of energy. He loves to go for walks and runs. Kail plays with all the dog toys be it stuffed animals, nylabones, deer antlers, kongs etc. He loves to throw the kongs in the air and watch them bounce. Sometimes Kail will confuse some household items such as shoes or clothes lying on the floor as toys. We’ve been able to catch him before he chews on them. However, I haven’t seen any destructive tendencies even when he plays with his dog toys; except, he does like to pull the stuffing out if a previous dog has already ripped the toy.
Kail does well in his crate when we’re gone during the work day. He appears to be housetrained at this point. We’ve had him a week and a half and haven’t seen him try to mark after the first day. He does all his business on lead and doesn’t pull too much when we go for walks. Kail also just loves to cuddle. When you call him, he comes running to you and buries his head in your lap or rolls over for a belly rub. After you’re done then he will snuggle up to you or he’ll try to get you to play with him. Kail would do well in a house looking for a medium energy, fun-loving dog.

Look at the eyeliner! What a beauty of a beagle! Kail is friendly and good with other dogs but was a stray in Culpeper, VA so his history is unknown. As we learn more, we’ll update him here.

What a delightful little beagle boy. Love his write up. Re the stuffed animals, I thought all beagles liked to rip out the squeeky and then toss the stuffing everywhere :-) He sounds just adorable.

Oh, he looks like a doll. My family and I are looking for a dog, have just recently thought about adopting a beagle. What other info. could you send me about him? We are thinking of adopting between now and the June. We live in VA. and have 3 indoor cats are rotten, no dogs and 2 children ages 9 and 12. Looking to add a canine sort to our family. Pretty low key household with lots of animal lovers. Travel some due to competitive swimming, but could take small to med. size dog with us.

I met with Missy Shepard today at Pet Smart (6/23/2012) and made a mistake as to the Beagle I was interested in, it is Kail not Kirt (he has crossed over).

Would there be any possibility of meeting Kail in the near future? My application is in and just waiting for a home inspection.

    Please let me know.

Missy, it was nice visiting you and the Beagle today, thank you for all you do.
