I've Been Adopted!

UPDATE - Jill is now fully vetted and ready for her foster or forever home! We checked her weight at the vet, and she is a little chunky at 17.5 pounds.

Jill is an 8- to 10-month-old beagle girl that is very small and low.  She is very playful and friendly.  She was a stray with Jack at the Louisa County (Virginia) Animal Shelter, and their histories are unknown. Jill will be available for a foster or forever home after she has been vetted.

  1. How small is small? Our beagle Jack is about 25 inches long and about 15 inches tall, and we are just wondering how small Jill would be compared to him.

Hi, Elyse – Jill is below average size for a beagle, about 17 pounds. Thanks for your interest!

      • If we were interested in meeting her to see how our current beagle reacts to her, is that a possibility?

In order to meet Jill, you must complete an application. We will then assign a volunteer to conduct a phone interview and do a vet check. After that we will arrange for a home visit. At the present, Jill is still at our kennels waiting for a foster home. We have an adoption event once a month and our next one is March 12th at the Manassas PetCo. The week before the event we list all the beagles that will be attending. You can bring your beagle to meet the dogs.
