We adopted Hoya in October 2002, he had two brothers Hokie and Terp. I was torn about which pup to adopt, all three were you fun and adorable. While the BREW volunteer and I were sitting on the floor engaging with the puppies, Hoya without prompt obediently sat between the two us and snatched a piece of paper from the volunteer's shirt pocket! He was so smart!

On June 2, we lost our sweet, precious Hoya after sixteen years filled with love and happy memories. While our family is struggling to move forward without our intelligent, sneaky, beautiful, perfect little man, we are happy to have all been together during his final moments with us. He was stoic to the end.

To our Hoya Boya, the happiest counter-surfing, food-thieving, bone-hiding beagle with a heart of steel. Our Hoya “Stonewall Jackson” was fearless and independent and the best brother we could have ever asked for!

  1. So sorry for your loss. How wonderful to have had him in your life for 16 years. He sounds like the typical beagle, mischievous, adventurous and a loving companion
