BREW is proud to be a part of the retirement and new beginnings for three adorable beagles, Bunsen, Beaker, and Microscope.

What are lab retirees?

They are beagles who were used in biomedical research tests until it was determined that they weren’t needed anymore.  These beagies, 3 of 22, were lucky and, instead of being euthanized, were given to rescue for placement in homes.

Now, they are just amazing beagles looking for their Forever Homes with families who want the unconditional love of a very grateful dog!

Check out these videos of the beagles:

What to expect

  • The newness of everything: walks, beds, toys, noises of a house, carpeting.
  • They are crate-trained – ’nuff said.
  • Super affectionate beagles who enjoy being handled, petted, hugged, and generally loved on.
  • They likely won’t know how to play – but we’re sure they’re fast learners!

How can you help?

There are a number of way you can help.

Fostering

The most immediate, most pressing need is Foster Homes. Either one of these guys OR another beagle we’ve had for longer. Both options work and help us immensely. Fostering gives the beagle an opportunity to learn the rules of the road: how to navigate stairs, how to go on walks, how to interact with other dogs and humans of varying ages, how to play. Essentially, fostering helps prepare the beagle for his/her Forever Home.

What do you get if you foster or adopt one of these dogs? The joy of watching them discover how amazing a home and a family can be.

If you’ve adopted from BREW before and would like to foster, email Laura Johnson or Mary Lou Ranck.

If you haven’t adopted from BREW, please read more about fostering here and fill out the foster application here.

We would LOVE for you to foster!

Adopting

BREW’s ultimate goal once a dog is safe with us, is to find him or her a Forever Home. We are always in need of those!

To adopt, please fill out the adoption application here. If you’ve adopted from BREW before, email Laura Johnson.

Sponsoring a Beagle

If fostering or adopting isn’t in your plans, you can sponsor them by making a donation in an amount of your choice to BREW.

Sponsorships help fill the gap between the dogs’ arrival and moving in to foster care. It helps with:

  • All vet work needed
  • Boarding charges
  • Doggie Day Care so these guys see how awesome freedom can be

Please fill out this form and we’ll add your name to the writeup of the beagle you’ve sponsored.

You precious beagle! You will finally learn how wonderful it is to just be a dog, loved and spoiled by your own human companion!
