UPDATE - 26 DECEMBER: Holly is so smart and sweet, making progress adjusting to homelife everyday. See her photos to catch up on her holiday break - she took some time to pose among the holly. And, she is nothing but a hound dog unless she is playing Tiny Tim in the family reenactment of a Christmas Carol. Holly loves her foster home, but her greatest wish is for her forever family!
18 DECEMBER 2016: Holly has rapidly shed the trappings of a scared, timid beagle and proved herself to be Intrepid Explorer and Avid Hiker on our outing today. She peed while on the leash and we are expecting bigger things in the future as she learns to trust us; it's only been 3 and a half days and she has made so much progress! Holly loves to cuddle. She is working on housetraining and separation anxiety. She has a short, soft coat and a high, lonesome bark plus a beautiful face.
First impressions: Holly is a 1-year-old, small female beagle who weighs about 15 pounds. She is friendly but submissive and gets along great with other dogs. Holly was pregnant and abandoned at the Cumberland County (Virginia) Animal Shelter but is now ready to learn how to be a well-loved pet. She was a stray so her history was unknown. Holly will be available for adoption soon!
