I've Been Adopted!
Age: 2 years
UPDATE - 11 May 2014: Gunner is a big love. He adapted to his foster home quickly and now is just one of the crew. He is a smart boy and learns quickly. Gunner loves to cuddle as does foster sister Colleen, but they seem to work it out. I usually have Colleen next to me and Gunner on the back of the chair with his head on my shoulder. Plus he gives nice kisses. He is house trained and well behaved overall. Gunner is said to have separation anxiety, but another dog must quell his fear as he has been good with me. While we are at work, Gunner is in a kennel with the other dogs in the house rather than in a crate alone. Gunner does well with the other dogs and has found a willing playmate in Colleen. He even got foster Faith, whose favorite activity is napping, to play a bit. Gunner has a nice energy level, not couch potato but not super energetic. Gunner has also earned the approval of the cats – he hasn’t made friends with them, but he does respectfully check them out. He doesn’t upset the cats, so I whatever he is doing must be okay.
4 APRIL 2014: Gunner is a big, friendly guy who is looking for a new place to call home. He was adopted into a wonderful home last autumn. His family discovered that Gunner has a whole lot of separation anxiety when left alone and recently made the difficult decision to return him to BREW. Gunner becomes very upset when left alone, which leads us to believe that he will need a foster home and, ultimately, a forever home that includes another dog. He would likely also benefit from a household with at least one person home during most the day.
Original information (June 2013): Gunner comes to BREW from Morgantown, WV where he was picked up as a stray. Gunner is a stocky boy. He’sbout 1 year old, 34 lbs, but not fat. He does fine with all people and the dogs he’s met at the shelter.
