I've Been Adopted!

Age: 6-7 years

Gender: Male

18 JULY 2014: Sweet Frosty was adopted earlier this year but has come back to BREW through no fault of his own. He is moving into a foster home soon and would do best in a home with another dog.

15 FEBRUARY 2014: Frosty is one sweet, gentle and easy going beagle.  He loves people, especially children, other dogs and animal of all kinds.  Don’t let his gray face fool you, he is a young dog at heart. Frosty loves to play with his ball and will spend time entertaining himself by tossing it and then pouncing on it. He is happy to relax on his bed and equally excited to go for a long walk. Frosty is crate trained, house broken and walks beautifully on a leash.  He is a smart dog who easily learned stairs and mastered the doggie door.  Frosty is very curious, likes to inspect his surroundings and loves to look out the window. I think he would do well in any situation.

29 JANUARY 2014: Frosty is one terrific beagle! He is very gentle boy who just wants love and has a lot of love to give in return. He is a very sweet and is eager to learn and to please. Frosty is very motivated by treats and very responsive to training. He won't take a treat from your hand, prefers if you put it on the floor in front of him. He is very sweet and snuggly but is not a kisser.

Frosty gets along well with all dogs, large and small and does great with cats as well. He is very curious about the world around him and calmly friendly to everyone he meets, young and old. He is very quiet for a beagle. I have only heard one bark, demanding to be let out of his crate after a long stretch. He is crate-trained, housebroken and terrific at walking on a leash.

He is a little bit timid but his confidence grows every day as he learns the routine and feels secure in his environment.

Original info: Frosty is a 6-7 year- old male beagle who is very friendly and does well with other dogs.  He was a stray at the Louisa County shelter so his history is unknown. Stay tuned for more information as we get to know him better!

Frosty is a great dog, so much so that he was adopted last night! The website has not been updated yet. There are lots of other great Beagles at BREW. Old Red seems to share many of Frosty’s finer qualities, check him out.

Ok thank you! I’m glad he’s got a good home to go to.

Frosty sounds like a perfect match for us! we would love to meet him. I’m just waiting for our home inspection to be complete before we will be allowed to actually adopt. would it be possible to arrange to meet him? And can you give me more info about the adoption even on March 15?

Frosty is a terrific beagle! He weighs 26.5 lbs and goes limp in your arms when you pick him up. He is located inside the Beltway in Northern Virginia. He will be at adoption event on 3/15/14.

I’m very interested in Frosty. I filled out an application on Sunday, but haven’t heard from anyone yet. Will Frosty by chance be at the Petco adoption in Arlington today?

Hi, Nan – BREW is a bit back-logged on applications right now, but a volunteer should be in touch with you soon. There is no event today (a typo on the website – sorry!), but we will be having one on March 15th in Alexandria. Thanks for your interest in adopting a BREW beagle!

Frosty sounds like such a sweet guy. Do you happen to know how much he weighs and what area he is located at?
