I've Been Adopted!

Gender: Female

Age: 5ish

Dinah gets along great with her beagle foster brothers and sister and absolutely loves children. I think she will do best with another dog or children. She does not have food aggression and will wait patiently for meals. Dinah has a clue regarding house training and has kept her crate clean for 3 to 4 hours. She does not like the vacuum cleaner or thunderstorms. Nor does she like when you raise your voice.
UPDATE FROM MAY ADOPTION DAY: Short legs, soft coat, long body and a personality plus. She spent the day looking for laps to climb into and kids to greet.  She greets you by putting her front paws on you asking for pets. Dinah is a 5yr old spayed female fully vetted and ready for a new home.  She came to a home in Richmond, VA as a stray. She has been indoors but now is kenneled.  She very friendly, great with other dogs and does very well with small children.

I just noticed that Dinah doesn’t like raised voices. My 2 year old is great with dogs, but my house definitely falls into the noisy category (Playful yelling and laughing). Would that be too much for Dinah?

Hi, Is Dinah still looking for a home? My 9 year old beagle Winston (adopted from BREW in December, 2003 – aka “Jerry”) is now an only dog, since our beloved Georgie (adopted from BREW in June, 2002) lost her 2.5 year battle with cancer last month. Winston is a shy lovebug who needs a dog pal. In the 8 years we’ve had him, I’ve never heard him cry, but he cries now, and has not barked once since we lost Georgie. Any recommendations for this kind of situation? Is it easier for dogs to get a new companion so soon, or should I wait? Thanks!

First, I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. While I’m sure you’re hurting, just know that Georgie is healthy again, playing and waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge.

And if Winston is crying – he may very well be missing his companion. The question of waiting is up to you. Winston would likely enjoy a companion regardless of timing – but the question is: are you ready?

      And yes, Dinah is available!
