I've Been Adopted!

UPDATE - 31 MAY 2014: Delila and Odie came to their foster home one week ago and had completely different responses.  They arrived while I was out and were spending time in the yard with my husband.  Immediately upon my stepping into the yard, Delila ran across the yard to come greet me.  Odie on the other hand, snuck up to me, let me pet him and then found the best hiding place in the yard.  One week later, Delila remains her lovey self, and Odie has really opened up.

Delila is a real lovey girl – she makes it clear when she wants attention.  She accompanies her attention seeking with little cries.  One could almost think she was unhappy, but the wiggling body and tail show otherwise.  She is a confident little girl and is a good companion to Odie.  She sleeps quietly all night in a kennel with Odie.  Delila is a big cuddler, but isn’t (yet anyway) a big kisser.  She loves to run and play, Odie being her best playmate.  She is also good with the cats and the cats aren’t fearful of her.  I can’t really comment on house training yet – we did have a couple of accidents last weekend, but that can just be the stress of a new situation.  She is a fast eater, but isn’t food aggressive.  Loves treats – of course.

24 May 2014: Delila recently moved into a foster home. Here's a VIDEO of her with her current foster brother, Odie.

20 May 2014: Delila's vetting has been completed, and she is now available for adoption!

Original info: Delila is a 3-year-old beagle girl who will be available for adoption after her vetting is completed.  She is very friendly and good with other dogs but was a stray in Louisa County, Virginia, so her history is unknown.

Is Delilah in a foster home yet? Is there an update?

    • ErinS

Hi, Jamie – Delila recently moved into a foster home, but we don’t have an update yet. I will see if I can get more info from her foster mom. Thanks for your interest!

    where is she located?

    • Laura w/ BREW

All of our beagles are located in and around the DC-Philly corridor. Thanks.

Is she spayed and how much is he?

    • Laura w/ BREW

Christian, all of our beagles are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Additionally, our adoption fee is $250 which covers vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip, hw test, etc. If you’d like to adopt a beagle from BREW, please submit an adoption application on our website. Once we receive it and the $15 app fee, we will assign your application to a BREW rep who will work with you throughout the adoption process. Thanks.

  5. Hi there – any updates on Delilah. What area of Virginia is she in?

    • Laura w/ BREW

Teresa, Delila is not yet available since her vetting hasn’t been completed. However, if you’d like to be considered for her or any other BREW beagle, please feel free to submit an adoption application on our website. Thanks.

    Any updates on Delila?

    • ErinS

Hi, Traci – Delila is currently in boarding awaiting her vetting appointment and a foster home, so we still don’t know a whole lot about her. Thanks for your interest!

  7. Darrielle

Hi- Are there any updates about Delila? I saw that it said “available soon”, but this was back in February.
Wondering how she is doing, any new info, and when she might be available.

    • ErinS

Hi, Darrielle – Delila is currently in boarding awaiting a foster home, so we still don’t know a whole lot about her. She is on a wait list for her vetting (we got in over 20 dogs in a short period of time, which was too many for our vets to handle at once). I don’t know the vetting schedule, but I’d expect she’ll be ready in the next several weeks. Thanks for your interest!

How much does Delila weigh? Does she get along with cats?

    • ErinS

Hi, Lauri – We don’t know a whole lot about Delila, as she recently arrived from the shelter and is currently at a kennel awaiting both vetting and a foster home. I haven’t met Delila, but BREW’s “medium” designation means a dog is roughly 20-30 pounds, and she looks to be fairly average-sized for a beagle. We’ll know more about her once she gets into a foster home. You can learn about our adoption process HERE. Thanks for your interest in adopting a BREW beagle!
