Just wanted to check in and let you know that Izzy is doing wonderfully. What a doll. We haven’t had any accidents, and she barely whines at all when she goes in her crate at night (I think she’s wiped out by then!). She gives all of us lots of love. We bring her to the parks, and all of the kids want a piece of her. She handles it all very gracefully. With all of the old men and women that we’ve had lately, I’d forgotten how much fun it was to have such a curious, playful, rascal around. I plan to try her out at a dog park today soon; I’m thinking she may miss her pack a bit.

She went to the vet this week and she checked out real well. The vet felt that she was 1 1/2 years old, based on the minimal tartar on her teeth. She said that it would be a challenge to keep her in her petite figure.

I am very thankful to you guys and BREW for finding such a great match for us. We are thrilled with Izzy.

Regards,<

Chief is the Executive Vice President in Charge of Morale

Richard Boblitz

We have changed Chief’s name to Buddy. He has gone to the Vets and is in good health with a excellent weight of 31.5#. Buddy loves his new home and parents and we love Buddy. He is like my shadow. He goes everywhere with us. He loves to ride in the car and play with is new ball.

By the way Buddy is working in the company I own (United Claims Adjusters Inc.) as our new Executive Vice President in charge of Morale. His salary is all inclusive room and board with his choice of treats. Buddy goes to the bank and the everyone at the bank loves him. He has his own blanket on which he sleeps. I have been meaning to talk to Buddy about his napping during work hours as I have caught him sleeping during the majority of the day. I guess he figures the only morale he has to keep high is mine and that doesn’t take very long.

Well got to run. By the way Buddy says hi and I caught him

Charles, Cynthia, Chuck, and Madeleine Wiley

Hi Everyone!

I used to be a very shy beagle girl, until I became a Wiley! (The last name of my adopted family.) Anyway, I have made great progress being here! I am less shy when new people go to pet my pretty face! I use to be very antsy when it came to food, but my family is doing a very good job on teaching me! My daddy and my sister always try to get me to sit before I have food so I get use to sitting! My mommy and brother always love to show me the lovin’! They always scratch my belly and play with me! I get walks almost everyday except when it is extremely coooold!!! I EVEN HAVE ANOTHER BEAGLE TO PLAY WITH ,TOO! His name is Bridger and we love to chase each other around the house! My sister gave me a little description through my name! (Look at the bottom.) My mommy and sister decided to give me a middle name too! So my full name is Becca Amanda Wiley! Amanda means WORTHY OF LOVE. They thought it was perfect for me

A Great Year for Charley

A Great Year for Charley

It’s been just over a year now since Charley (who was TRENT) joined our family, and I just wanted to let you and BREW know what a WONDERFUL year it has been. He is a fantastic, sweet little dog – he’s become my little lap dog, actually. He did very well in basic obedience class, and is getting better with other dogs. He absolutely loves my sister’s 2 Boxers. He’s also found his voice, but it took a while. I hear a bark from him almost every day now.

True to beagle form, he’s into everything (fortunately, that’s only resulted in one trip to the new emergency vet). The move to Vermont was good – the beagles got their own fenced in back yard and run of the house. Charley LOVES the snow, which is good because there’s been at least a foot of it on the ground since Thanksgiving. He especially loves snowballs and icicles too. He doesn’t like the cold, but tolerates it in small doses.

We just wanted to say THANK YOU for Charley. Poppy

In February of 2003, my then wife and I adopted Kisses from BREW as a playmate for our other beagle Zoey. We took her in renamed her to Zephyr and immediately she became a lovable member of our pack. I loved taking them both out for my runs and watching them chasing each other in the backyard. The two dogs were inseparable. Unfortunately, in 2005 my wife and I separated and she took both dogs with her. I was heartbroken over losing the dogs; they were the only thing I lost in the divorce that I was actually sore over. For a year and three months I did not get to see Zephyr or know how she was doing. Finally, in August 2006, I received an email from my now ex-wife saying that she was moving and could not take both dogs with and asked if I could take Zephyr back. Of course I said yes and saw her again that September.

Something was wrong though. The second she saw me, she started growling and barking at me which was completely out of character for the lovable and affectionate beagle that I knew. I asked my ex if she had

I wanted to let everyone know about how Phinney (used to be Fenway) was doing in his new home.  From the photo you can see that he is getting along great with his new sister, Zosha.  They are hilarious together and play all the time.  We call them Moon Dog and Sun Dog because in the morning Phinney is VERY lazy and wants to sleep while Zosha is crazy and wants to wiggle worm all over the place.  Then at night Zosha wants no part of anything and finds the darkest, quietest place to sleep while Phinney is a total MANIAC.  They are so awesome and bring immense joy to Travis and me.

They both love to go on bike rides, although Phinney can’t keep up with Zosha, he is too interested in figuring out “what that smell is”.  They love the dog park and  really get all the other dogs to run around like a crazy pack.  Phinney is super vocal and makes me laugh all the time with his voice.  The funniest thing is when he is chasing Zosha and has a ball in his mouth he still tries to bay at her but

Milton is Wonderful

Hi!  Milton is doing very well. He is still quite mellow, but his personality is starting to shine through. He possesses standard Beagle stubbornness when he doesn’t want to do something, but he is so loving and cuddly that I have to forgive him those  moments.

I love it when he talks to me when I get home. He also “talks” when he is excited or needs to go out.  He doesn’t talk very often, so when he does, I encourage it. He’s just so adorable when he lifts his nose and lets loose with a Beagle bay!

He has enjoyed two extended overnight stays. The first was with my parents, his grandparents, when I had to attend a math conference in Blacksburg  and the other was when I went to Colorado for Spring Break. He stayed with my best friend of 30 years and her sheltie mix, Petey, because my parents were in Colorado already.

My friend says that Milton walks very well on a leash (better than Petey) and he seemed to be happy and well-settled at her place.

Milton graduated from Beginner Obedience School yesterday (I

Earl Oliver

Hello, it’s me Earl Oliver!

Just wanted to check in with all of you, especially my wonderful BREW family. I am doing great!  My new forever home is a blast. Mommy picked me up from Aunt Pat and Uncle Jeff in Allentown PA.( my bestest foster parents)  on March 7th 2008. I was used to being a country pup, but very soon became a happy city pup. They still have lots of grass here, and long blocks for mommy and me to walk. I have to admit, I love being pampered being the only child. I keep being showered with gifts from all of mommy’s friends, and my sisters friend’s too! I made so many furry friends in the neighborhood. I look out the huge living room window where I  arf when I see my friends pass by. I have beds and comfy places all over the house. I love to snuggle in with mommy, and nestle my head in her arms.

Mommy wants you to know how grateful she is to BREW, and especially my foster family for giving us both a

Our Cheddar

Dear BREW,

Thank you for bringing Cheddar into our lives! We first met her at one of our events held in Dale City, Virginia in August last year. Days later she became the newest member of the family and in no time at all she completely won our hearts with her gentle and affectionate personality. We have two cats who have accepted her as well. We often find the three of them sleeping close together – all relaxed and totally at ease with each other.

My wife, son and I all get our own quality time with Cheddar. She likes to snuggle with me after we return from a long walk around the lake near our home. When we meet other people and their dogs, Cheddar always gives out a welcoming howl and dances around in circles. She is so friendly that everyone who meets her instantly takes a liking to her. As the photo shows, Cheddar likes hanging out with our son and his friends, too.

We couldn’t be happier with our adorable little beagle! She seems happy too and shows it
