I've Been Adopted!

Update 3/17: Carly is a very happy and active 4 month old puppy and is about 15 lbs.  She sleeps in her crate at night and does well when left for a couple hours.  She knows the doggy door and is working on house training.  She is also learning to walk on a leash.  She is really sweet and plays well with people and other dogs.  She is now fully vetted and ready for her forever home.

Carley is one of 4 beagle mix puppies from Cumberland Co. They were an owner surrender who said they are 12 weeks old as of February 13. The owner did not specify what they were mixed with, but they could possibly be dachshund beagle mix.

  1. How long after you apply to adopt should I expect to hear back? Thanks!

    • LindaC

Once your application is received it will be assigned to a volunteer. They will e-mail you to set up a time for a phone interview. This usually takes about one week.

  2. My husband and I are very interested in adopting Carley; however, we live in Minnesota. How would the home visit / check work or is that too far away?

If you are interested in adopting, we would try to find a rescue in your area to do the home visit. Since you are so far away, Carley may get adopted before you can be approved. You may want to check out Beagle Rescue Education and Welfare Mid-West. You can find them at

  3. Will Carley and Walker be at the next March 12th adoption day in Manassas? how can I meet them before the event? what is the process, is an application required before seeing/meeting them? Thank you!

    • LindaC

We will not know who will be at adoption day until that week. They are not available to be met before adoption day. If you have not already submitted an application I would encourage you to do so before the adoption day. Our process takes a few weeks. After submitting an application you will be assigned to a volunteer who will call your for an interview and then schedule you for a home visit.
