6 JULY 2016: Cagney is 26 pounds with a lovely hourglass figure. She is cat friendly or cat tolerant. Cagney is quite skittish in the house and will jump when a drawer closes but approaches the vacuum cleaner bravely when it is running and will attack it when it is not. I also heard her growling at her reflection in the stove door tonight. Cagney has chosen a buckwheat zabuton meditation cushion as the only bed fit for her slumber. She is the ultimate Zen doggie.
3 JULY 2016: Cagney is making a tremendous transition to house living, but she is not entirely sure it is her cup of tea! She is as sweet and loving as pie, even managing to cuddle with her temperamental foster sister on the couch. She spent her first night quietly in her crate but does not like being separated from the other dogs and cries when we gate her into the kitchen alone. Cagney is working on the house training; she will poop and pee while on the leash. Cagney walks well on the leash. She is not food motivated in the slightest so finding a training treat has been a trick. Cagney likes kids and is very friendly with everyone.
First Impressions: Cagney is a 4 year old beagle possibly beagle/basset that is friendly and good with other dogs. She is a beautiful, stocky girl. She was given up with Lacey and by the same person that gave up Dave & Buster. Her previous owner had them for rabbit hunting but said they would make better pets than hunters. She was given up to the Cumberland Co. Animal Shelter. As of 22 June, Cagney is fully vetted and ready for her foster or forever home!
