I've Been Adopted!

QUICK UPDATE - 13 NOVEMBER 2016: Bridgette has made great headway in her foster home and will now potty on a leash!

1 NOVEMBER 2016: Bridgette is a very calm, well adjusted girl. She has settled into our home with no fuss. I wish all fosters adjusted into our schedule as easily.

Bridgette loves people and enjoys snuggling with people and other dogs. She follows us around the house and is always hopeful a treat is coming soon. This girl would not do well in a home where there is no one to dote upon her for most of the day.

Bridgette will not potty on a leash so this girl needs a backyard. Also, Bridgette needs a second dog in order to feel more comfortable; I can often find her snuggling with our senior Beagle girl.

7 OCTOBER 2016: Bridgette has been in my house now for over a week, not one accident!!!  She is crate trained and house trained, super friendly and gets along well with my other dogs.  Like most beagles, she loves her treats!!!  She patiently waiting for her forever home.

25 SEPTEMBER 2016: Bridgette  is a 4-year-old spayed and fully vetted female that is an owner give up to the Louisa County Animal Shelter with no reason given.  She's very friendly and good with other dogs but house training is unknown.  She is now available and looking for a new forever home.

  1. Hello,

I’m interested in Bridgette, is she still available? What is her energy level? Do you think she would be happy in a home with one adult and a 13 year old child, she’d be the only pet in the home and is a condo. I have completed an application but just wanted some more information to make sure this will be a home she would and thrive in.

Hello, Cherry – we have recently gotten an update from Bridgette’s foster mom, who feels she needs another dog in her forever home. Additionally, she will not potty on a leash, so she will require a fenced yard. Thanks for your interest in adoption. Our volunteers can work with you during the application process to help you find a good match!

      • Hi Erin,

Thanks so much for the feedback and honesty to ensure perfect placement for these guys. I’m interested in working with someone to assist my son and I in this process and I do have another Beagle of interest 🙂

  2. Hello Bridgette Foster Family,

Will Bridgette be at the Adoption fair next weekend? How is her energy level and do you think she will be happy in a condo with one adult, one child (13) and no other pets?

I thought I heard she got adopted at BeagleFest… ?

Hi – Bridgette is with BREW now.

  4. Just filled out an application for Mini. We met her at Beaglefest. Adorable. Perfect fit with our other 2 beagles who met her at Beaglefest too.

Hi, Terrie – apologies for the slow response. Mini’s foster home decided to adopt her, but Bridgette (whose page this comment is on) is currently available, although she does have some interest.

  5. My husband died recently & my 4 year old rescued beagle is very lonely when I am out on my daily activities each day. I am looking for a female about the same age as he seems to like fellow beagles that are female. He is neutered. I will be travelling to PA Nov. 10 to intere my husband’s ashes. I will be returning to FL via car the day after Thanksgiving. I will have Buddy with me & would like to visit her to see if they get along. If so, I would like to adopt her. My phone # is [REMOVED FOR PRIVACY]. Thank you.

Hi, Geraldine – I am so very sorry to hear of your loss and appreciate your desire to find a canine companion for your current dog. Our adoption process includes and interview, vet check, and home check, and I’m afraid Florida is well out of our area (most of of our dogs and volunteers are in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC). I will share your message with one of our adoption volunteers, but you might also consider other beagle rescues in Florida, which can be found on this website: Thanks for your interest, and good luck!

  6. Where is she located at??

    • Erin

Hi, Hailey – Bridgette is currently fostered in central Virginia. Thanks for your interest!
