I've Been Adopted!

Brenda

Age: 4-5 years

Gender: Female

UPDATE - 21 OCTOBER 2014: Hi, I’m Brenda! My foster mom is busy at the moment so I thought I would give you an update on me. Now this will be very biased. I am adorable! At least that is what I have been told. I just love everybody! I love my foster mom and dad, my foster beagle brothers, everyone I meet on the street, especially kids. I really enjoy when they stop to pet me. I make this whimpering almost whining sound but that means I am happy.

I love to go for walks. Mom tries to take us on 2 mile walks several times a week. Me and my foster brother Duke really enjoy that. So many sights and smells!

I also enjoy food, a lot. I am now on a diet. Not really happy with that. Mom even told the nice neighbor lady that I can’t have any more treats for awhile. Boy was I bumming. But I guess mom knows best. I can also be a little vocal. Especially when my humans come home from work. I do like attention. But I am also a very good girl.

I have free run of the house. I do all my business outside.

But as much as I love it here, I really do need my fur-ever home. Arrooo!

20 April 2014: Brenda has been with us for about 3 months. She is a very happy little girl who loves everything and everybody. She gets along great with her foster brothers and enjoys meeting people on our walks. She can be a bit vocal, though, especially if you don’t stop and pet her.  She loves all the attention you can give her.

She is housetrained but doesn’t usually signal. I have given her the freedom of not being crated for the last 2 months. Brenda loves running around the yard. And, when the neighbors 2 little nieces come over, Brenda really enjoys when they pet her.

She is very food motivated, so I have to watch to make sure she doesn’t steal her foster brother’s food. She has been a joy to have.

Original info: Brenda came to BREW from Culpeper County, VA, where she was found as a stray. She is one happy beagle!!! She is very sweet and playful, a little vocal at times, and gets along well with small kids, adults, and other dogs. Stay tuned for more info once Brenda has moved into a foster home!

Thanks Erin. We have adopted 2 BREW beagles in the past. We just lost our 2nd one to cancer this past summer. We really want to adopt from BREW again and we are trying to decide when the time will be right. We have two kids 3-yr-old son and 16 mo. old daughter. We are trying to decide if we should wait until our daughter turns 2, but we all really miss having a beagle!

You’re welcome, Amy, and very sorry to hear of your beagles’ passing. I’ve shared your inquiry with a BREW volunteer who works with former adopters. She can help you through the process when you decide you’re ready!
