29 September 2013: Displaced beagle girl accustomed to the finer things in life seeks new, permanent accommodations that include human companionship, couch time, and overnights in the people bed. Other dogs and cats welcome. Likes: food, snuggling, short walks, food, sniffing. Dislikes: Overnighting in the crate, slow meal service. Skills: House-trained, crate-trained, occasionally breaks into beagle song in response to crate or noises outside. Contact: BREW, re: adoption process. (Editor’s note: Brandy is a very sweet girl whose tail has barely stopped wagging since she arrived yesterday in her foster home. She was clearly very much loved and well-cared for by her former owner. While happy to be out of the kennel and in a house, she is still a bit confused by her change in circumstances - her owner was suffering from Alzheimer’s, and a kind neighbor contacted BREW. Brandy would likely thrive in a home that is already accustomed to showering affection on couch- and bed-loving pups, and she would also benefit from a feeding and walking routine appropriate for regaining and then maintaining her girlish figure.)

Brandy is an 8-year-old spayed and fully vetted beagle girl who has suddenly found herself homeless.  Her caregiver was no longer able to care for the dogs.  She is house and crate trained but may need a little brush up since her owner was suffering from Alzheimer's.  She is very sweet and friendly, low key and gets along well with other dogs.  She had a male poodle as a long time companion and is currently residing with another female beagle.  She is classic beagle that will let you know if she wants something.  She very much would love to find a new home.

    Hi Laura et al,

We lost Chelsea (Brew name Shelly) last August and we and our beagle boy Schubert (Brew name JoJo) are lonely for another dog. Could we foster her to see if she could be a good fit for Schubert. He has Kushings and a heart murmer disease but he does miss “his Chelsea” still.

Please call me ASAP at 301.699.0440.

Hi, Gloria – I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am currently fostering Brandy, and I think she may be a good fit for you and Schubert. I need to take her in to the vet tomorrow (just a routine visit, nothing of concern), and I will give you a call after that. Thanks!

I’m all beagled -up but she sounds like a perfect fit for my family! If she still is available in the future.. I’ll be first in line for this little lady 😉

She sounds delightful – I know she won’t be in foster very long!
