UPDATE - 24 JANUARY 2018 (from Boomer's foster family): Boomer is very friendly and affectionate and wants to greet every person and dog he sees. He gets sad (and whimpers) if someone passes without saying hello. Boomer walks pretty well on leash (he sniffs and pulls at times like a typical beagle), and really loves romping through the woods (on and off trail--always on leash). He has a great singing voice, and beagles loudly in the woods when he is on a scent trail. He loves walks when the weather is nice (on super cold or snowy days he just wants to do his business and get back to his comfy bed). Around the neighborhood he is somewhat interested in squirrels and will chase them around trees (see pics), but isn't obsessed.
Boomer would love a family that can give him a lot of attention and wants his affection. He is often quiet, but can live up to his name if he wants attention and isn't getting it. He likes to have his pack together.
UPDATE - 13 JANUARY 2018: Boomer just went to his new foster home, so we will be learning more about him soon!
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: Boomer is a 3 year old neutered male who is now fully vetted and ready for a new beginning. He is friendly, fairly low key and quiet despite his name. He was a stray at the Louisa County Animal Shelter in Virginia, so his history is unknown. Boomer is available for fostering or adoption.
